Exponare Public Concepts
Exponare Public includes a number of concepts with which you may not be familiar. These concepts are summarised below.
Work Contexts
Exponare groups maps, data and their configuration (data binds, query definitions and printing options, etc) into packages called Work Contexts. When working in Exponare Public, you can access only one Work Context at a time. It is a good idea to become familiar with the different Work Contexts available, particularly as some features will only be available in certain Work Contexts. You can change the Work Context through the menu or through the Home button's drop-down menu.
Layers
The map displayed in each Work Context is made up of mulitple map Layers. Typically each Layer represents one type of information. For example, the Parcel Work Context have Layers for properties, roads, sewerage, parks, water and so on. The Layers that make up the map are normally visible in the Legend, including a picture of what the features in that Layer looks like.
Features
Each layer has one or more Features that represent physical objects or other map data. When working with a map, you can select Features from one or more Layers and view information about those features.
